Mark Twain Lake Sailing Association


Welcome Aboard!

The Mark Twain Lake Sailing Association offers a hearty welcome to all who come to Mark Twain Lake in search of sailing adventure. MTLSA's purpose is to promote seamanship, education, and boating safety to boaters of all types.

Mark Twain Lake is located in the northeastern corner of Missouri about 30 miles west of Hannibal, Mo., the boyhood home of Samuel Clemens (a.k.a. Mark Twain).

    Headquarters to MTLSA is Blackjack Marina located at the Ray Behrens Recreation Area just a half mile from Cannon Dam on Route J.

    July 28, 2008 - Breaking News

    Mark Twain Lake has reached record levels and will soon (maybe today) reach the maximum lake level of 638 feet. At midnight this morning, the lake level was at 637.77 feet which is nearly a foot above the previous record set on September 27, 1993. Some of our members have taken some pictures in the last couple of days and a quick web page has been created from these contributions for all to see.     As of noon today, the Corps of Engineers have shut down the lake to boaters and have begun letting out water from the lake at near its maximum outflow level.
